The Department of Political Science and Public Administration offers four certificate programs from courses offered in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program. Each program consists of four three-credit courses taught in the late afternoon and evening to accommodate working people who are trying to update or upgrade their skills. The courses are available at UND in Grand Forks and available for distance students through an online-assisted delivery format. The programs are open to anyone with an undergraduate degree in any area of study.
The certificate programs are offered for those who do not want to make an initial commitment to a master’s degree program, but courses taken may be applied to an MPA if a student decides to pursue the degree.

Admissions Requirements:
1. A four-year bachelor's degree from a recognized college of university.
2. A cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 for all undergraduate work (based on a A=4.00).
Program Delivery
All courses are offered in a hybrid format. Each class has a group of local students, attending on-site at UND, and also has distance students who enter the classroom remotely from any location. This technology allows synchronous ("real-time") delivery of the program to students in any location, as long as they have access to the required equipment.
All students (whether receiving instruction on-site or online) are required to attend the "live" class. To accommodate working professionals, almost all MPA courses are offered in the evening (7:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.).
Online students will connect to the class meetings through Adobe Connect. For more information or for technical support with Adobe Connect visit: http://und.edu/acadmics/cilt/index.cfm
The Department of Entrepreneurship offers a certificate in Entrepreneurship. The program consists of five three-credit courses and one one credit course. The program is open to all track students who earn a 2.50 or over cumulative GPA over their course of study.
