Why a MSAE?
An article recently published by the New York Times, describes the progression of the field of economics and the various career applications that an economist may be exposed to. Traditionally, economists were hired by businesses to examine macro-level concepts such as recession trends and the impact of currency exchanges on the economy. However, technology companies are just one example of an industry looking to utilize economists in a different way. Corporate giants, such as Amazon and Microsoft, are hiring economists in droves to study micro-level data such as consumer behavior decisions in order to improve spending projections. The field of economics is diverse and exciting. With new career opportunities emerging in various industry sectors, the field proves to be a lucrative one.
