BYLAWS
University of North Dakota American Marketing
Association Bylaws
Our Chapter's mission is to create an environment that
supports the professional development of AMA members attending
the University
of North Dakota. The UND chapter provides an opportunity to gain
valuable marketing experiences as well as networking with professional
and fellow AMA members.
Article I.
Officers
Section 1. The offices to be held by selected members are: President, Vice President, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Advertising, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Fundraising, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Special Events, and Secretary.
Section 2. The officers will be voted in by a majority vote at a bi-monthly general meeting. The office of President must be a current student in the school of business and public administration.
Selection 3. Duties of elected officers.
President
§ provide leadership and overall direction
for the chapter
§ preside over all general and executive
meetings
§ work with the faculty advisor
§ perform faithfully all duties
§ delegate duties and responsibilities
§ perform the duties of offices not filled
until an officer is elected
§ be deciding vote in case of a tie
§ assist the President in managing and directing
the chapter
§ perform duties and responsibilities
of the President when necessary
§ maintain open lines of communication
among all executive members
§ maintain historical record of the chapter
§ prepares minutes
Vice President of Finance
§ receives and disburses funds
§ manages all financial affairs of the chapter
Vice President of Membership
§ organizes and carries out an
active recruiting program for the chapter
§ ensures that chapter meets all AMA chapter
requirements
Vice President of Communication
§ create awareness of the organization
§ keep members updated with upcoming events
Vice President of Special Events
§ organize fall and spring trips
§ organize involvement activities in the chapter
Vice President of Advertising
§ create and disperse promotional materials
about chapter meetings
§ promote announcements of chapter
activities
Vice President of Fundraising
§ increase financial resources of the chapter
§ coordinate chapter events to raise money
Article II.
Membership
Section 1. Membership shall be
composed of any students, faculty, or staff of the University of
North Dakota.
Section 2. A membership fee is required per active
member yearly.
Section 3. All active members are entitled to one vote per issue.
Article III.
Membership Responsibilities
Section 1. All members must pull together and operate as one unit. Each member is to accept the responsibility and uphold the dignity of the chapter.
Article IV.
Meetings
Section 1. The President shall call the first meeting of the semester and establishes the day of the week and times of the meeting throughout the semester.
Section 2. Meeting shall be bi-weekly and occur on the same day and time of the week.
Section 3. The President is the only one allowed to cancel meetings.
Section 4. Any issue requiring a vote will be determined by a 50 percent majority of attending members.
Article V.
Ratification on amending
Section 1. This constitution will be in effect upon the approval
of a ¾ membership vote at the announced general meeting.
Section 2. This constitution may be amended at any times following
the proposal of an amendment and ¾ membership majority vote.
