Department of Political Science & Public Administration
Are you intrigued by current events, policy formulation, or the day-to-day operations of government? The Department of Political Science and Public Administration offers a dynamic curriculum to prepare students for graduate studies or careers in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors.
Our department offers two majors: Political Science and Public Administration. The Political Science degree is granted through the College of Arts & Sciences, while the Public Administration degree is granted through the College of Business and Public Administration.
BA in Political Science
Our Political Science students are educated in a breadth of topics including American politics, international relations, comparative politics, public policy, and political thought. Students acquire essential skills in policy analysis, writing, and critical thinking, and have gone onto work in nonprofits, and local, state, and federal government roles.
BS in Public Administration
Public Administration is known as “the business of government.” With a curriculum that combines essential business studies such as management, accounting, and economics with a foundation of political science, our graduates have pursued exciting careers at a variety of public, private, and nonprofit organizations.
