Under the umbrella of the University of North Dakota, the College of Business and Public Administration (CoBPA) enrolls over 1,900 students. It is one of 528 schools in the United States with undergraduate and graduate programs accredited by the AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
New technologies and teaching innovations are the cornerstone of Gamble Hall, home to most students and faculty of the CoBPA. Here, UND's history of excellence in education is enhanced through the use of several up-to-date computer lab and interactive video network (IVN) studio rooms. Faculty use computer technologies in class through built-in and portable equipment. The Cargill Room, a state-of-the-art boardroom, is the environment used for college "Capstone" courses.
The newly added A. Kirk Lanterman Investment Center allows students to gain financial research and investment experience with leaving campus. "Real-time" information is presented on a data wall complete with a ticker tape display to relay current market information and news headlines providing students with a unique learning experience.
The Page Family Marketing Center exposes students to an innovative marketing research facility. Students may work on projects and practice presentations in any of the three student break-out study/meetings rooms. The facility is equipped wit a focus group room capable of broadcasting a meeting to other classrooms in the CoBPA. The Kulas & Koppenhaver Memorial and EideBailly Accounting Learning Centers offer students an opportunity to work in an accounting information systems environment. The EideBailly faculity emphasized the experience of students working in teams.
Dedicated to providing educational and social opportunities to all its students, the College offers more than 20 professional student clubs and organizations.
Students in the College can also take advantage of many cooperative employment and internship programs. These programs offer full-time and part-time positions throughout the year that give students experience in their field of study. The CoBPA prepares students for a variety of professional career opportunities. Its graduates continue to succeed in business and government. With this proven track record, the College has a proud reputation of producing leaders.
UND is a coeducational state-supported instutition located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, with a population of about 50,000. With over 13,000 students, UND is the largest post-secondary institution in the Dakotas, Montana, and western Minnesota.
The Center for Innovation, part of the CoBPA, assists entrepreneurs to grow new and emerging ventures. The Ina Mae Rude Center provides an incubator for developing businesses. The Center Staff and the College's Entrepreneurship Director identify businesses to participate in the Kauffman Entrepreneurship Internship Program. This program provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain knowledge by working directly with an entrepreneur.
The College awards nearly $90,000 in scholarship money yearly. Some scholarships are based on merit and academic achievement, while others are set aside for specific majors or for students with specific interests.
The CoBPA also hosts the North Dakota Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Through the SBDC, students can gain hands-on experience by helping small business owner's develop marketing plans, analyze financial performance, develop strategies, conduct customer research, and increase processing productivity.
