'Accountancy
The University of North Dakota offers the highest quality undergraduate Accountancy program in the region. Graduates from UND's Accountancy program are prepared for success in a variety of careers, on a worldwide basis. Because of the faculty's focus on QUALITY in the Accountancy program, several top international, national, and regional Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firms and businesses, recruit accounting majors on-campus.

The program in Accountancy can be structured to prepare students for certification as a CPA, Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). As a side note, a large percentage of CPA's registered with the North Dakota State Board of Accountancy are graduates of UND's Accountancy program. In addition to classroom education, each year UND Accountancy faculty place over 40% of the majors in internships with public accounting firms, businesses, and government agencies around the region and elsewhere.

'Aviation/Airport Management
The College of Business and Public Administration and the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences (JDOSAS) jointly offer the Aviation Management and Airport Management programs. Always at the forefront of aerospace-related technology, JDOSAS has earned national acclaim for its achievements in collegiate aviation education and atmospheric research.

Airport Management majors earn a private pilot's certificate (approximately 50 hours flying time). Aviation Management majors earn a commercial pilot's certificate (approximately 200 hours flying time). Students majoring in either field also earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

'Banking
The faculty of Economics and Finance provide coursework for a major in Banking and Financial Economics. This degree program is designed to meet the needs of potential employees of commercial banks, financial institutions, finance departments of corporate firms, or government agencies.

'Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship program at UND is designed to prepare students for careers that include developing new ventures, both for-profit and not-for-profit, and working for organizations that value new product and business development. The Entrepreneurship program emphasizes development of entrepreneurial skills and traditional business skills. A principle objective of the program is to prepare students for identifying market opportunities and providing experiences that allow for the realization of those opportunities.

'Information Systems
The Information Systems program provides business students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in careers as network specialists, database developers, systems engineers, software engineers, consultants, and records and information managers. Information Systems, at its heart, is a business discipline. Computer Science is the mother discipline to Information Systems; therefore a solid foundation in Computer Science is also necessary. Students in the Information Systems program will be exposed to knowledge in both fields - business and computer science.
There are ever-widening job opportunities for Information Systems students. Employers continue to stress the computer skills they need in the people they employ. In the "Career Outlook 2000 and Beyond" published by the ND State Occupational Information Coordinating Committee, three of the top five fastest growing occupations in ND between 1996 and 2006 are database administrators, system analysts, and computer support specialists all with 70+% growth rates.

'Management
The UND Management program develops student's ability to analyze and solve problems confronting today's for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. The Management curriculum is broad enough to prepare students for a variety of career opportunities.
Surveys of past graduates identify this breadth as a major strength of the program. The program provides a background of professional education for careers in retail management, manufacturing, human resource management, banking, aviation, health care, and other fields where sound management skills are important. Many Management students also pursue internship opportunities with local businesses.

'Managerial Finance and Corporate Accounting
The MFCA major is a unique curriculum that is offered jointly by the Department of Finance and Department of Accountancy. The goal of the major is to prepare students for a variety of career opportunities in finance and accounting, with emphasis on strategic analysis and recommendations for all levels of corporate and business structures. THE MFCA is flexible allowing the student to emphasize additional accounting or finance topics through electives. By combining the core coursework of accounting and finance, students have the potential to become a Certified Financial Manager (CFM) and Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), recognized widely in both professions.
