I want to welcome you to the homepage of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of North Dakota. The goal of this homepage is to make it easy for you to become acquainted with the Department and its programs.
The Department consists of nine highly qualified people who have degrees from some of the best schools in the country. They teach a variety of courses in such areas as American politics, constitutional law, comparative politics, international politics, political theory, public administration, and public policy. The Department offers undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Public Administration. It also offers the only Master of Public Administration degree in the state of North Dakota.
All members of the Department highly value teaching. The Department won the University award for outstanding undergraduate teaching in 2005 and all members of the Department have been nominated individually for outstanding teaching. They also maintain an active and productive research agenda, publishing books and articles that produce new knowledge in their fields of expertise. The Department also directs the Bureau of Governmental Affairs which conducts research on issues of importance for state and local governments and non-profit organizations.
