Which businesses are eligible for participation?
We are looking for entrepreneur companies with less than 100 employees and less than $10 million dollars in sales per year.
How do I sponsor an Entrepreneurship Intern?
If you or your company is interested in sponsoring an intern, call Craig Silvernagel, the Director of Entrepreneurship at UND (701-777-2463) or by email at craig.silvernagel@mail.business.und.edu.
What is expected of business sponsors?
Businesses who participate will be asked to develop a project for the intern to work on during their time with the company. Through the semester the entrepreneur and others in the company will be asked to "mentor" the intern. This will give the student direction in completing the project, and sharing with the student what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
How will the business benefit from the internship?
Intern wages paid by the financial contributions of the participating business are an investment in the future of the business and the region. The business gains an enthusiastic, skilled employee who can complete projects that the entrepreneur does not have the time, expertise or money to pursue themself. Interns are hard working, bright young men and women who have a growing knowledge base in many areas such as Engineering, Marketing, Accounting, and Web page development. These students are this region’s next generation of entrepreneurs, and the experience they gain while working with an entrepreneur will help them be successful themselves.
