Kauffman Internship
'
  • Each year, through the Kauffman Entrepreneurial Internship Program, 15-20 UND Entrepreneurship students are awarded internships with area start-up businesses and entrepreneurial ventures. Internship students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and majors, but all share the dream of becoming entrepreneurs themselves.
  • For one semester, students work up to 15 hours a week as paid consultants, receiving hands-on experience in a start-up or expanding business and the chance to develop a mentoring relationship with an entrepreneur executive of the company.
  • This internship program not only gives UND Entrepreneurship students the hands on experience they need and want, but also provides area start-ups and small businesses with additional help in completing critical projects. Interns receive an inside view of what it takes to start a business and how entrepreneurs work to become successful. Much of this type of experience cannot be taught in a classroom.
  • The Kauffman Entrepreneurial Internship program is funded partly through a grant from the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition, financial support is provided by the Grand Forks City Council and the entrepreneur company.
