Department of Management
The Department of Management offers one comprehensive undergraduate program in management. The purpose of the program is to prepare the student for the challenges of modern management by providing an overall understanding of the basic functions of management as well as appropriate skills and problem solving methods.
The program initiates the student into the complexities of organizational variables such as human resources and materials or physical facilities, and provides the student with appropriate frameworks for examining various institutions and the external environment in which these units operate.
In developing an understanding of the interrelationships between the various management functions and the environment, emphasis is placed upon analytical problem solving, establishing strategies and policies, human relations, and general management principles. The curriculum also provides the student with a substantial choice of electives in business administration courses. The student majoring in management is prepared to choose from a variety of career opportunities in private and public organizations.
