UND Society for Human Resource Management Attends State and Community Events
The University of North Dakota Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has been busy this fall. The group attended the State Conference as well as a community service event at Central High School in Grand Forks.
In September this fall seven, UND SHRM members attended the North Dakota SHRM State Conference. It is a conference for professional human resource managers around the state to meet for educational sessions to maintain professional certification and also to socialize and to network with students. It was held in Fargo, North Dakota. Pictured above left to right is Jonathan Yap, Haley Desjarlais, Olya Kavunenko, Josh Lee, Aletha Orwick, Bridgit Martinson and Kaia Storhaug.
UND SHRM members provided community service to students at Central High School in Grand Forks. The purpose was to help student understand the field of Human Resource Management (HRM) and the HRM major offered at UND. In an hour long presentation, SHRM members gave students information on HRM and tips on job interviewing skills. UND SHRM members returned to Central High for a follow-up session to assist High School faculty conduct mock interviews with the high school students.
