BeBold UND Women in Leadership Summit
Empowering the next generation of women leaders.
This summit is designed to provide thought-provoking discussion regarding women in leadership and inspire us all to be bold and become a fearless, determined, leader.
This event expanded from the Hultberg Lectureship Series which was established thirty-three years ago with a gift through the UND Foundation by Clara E. Anderson (Hultberg) in memory of her parents Hans and Suzanne Hultberg. Clara was a 1928 UND graduate, with her interest in stimulating challenges and opportunities for students in business.
UND Alumna Mary Fischer, was inspired to develop an experience to empower young professionals through education and support. In 2020, this vision began to come to life with the establishment of the BeBold UND Women in Leadership Summit.
The Nistler College has proudly hosted this event both in virtual and in-person formats with panels of distinguished women and keynote speakers. The event is invitation-based through student nominations by Nistler College faculty and staff. All genders are welcome.

Monique Lamoureux- Morando and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson – Keynote Speakers
Monique Lamoureux- Morando and Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson
Born and raised in Grand Forks as the youngest of six kids, Monique and Jocelyne excelled as young athletes and became North Dakota’s first Olympic Gold Medalists. Despite not having the opportunity to play on girls hockey teams growing up, they did not let that stop them from being some of the best players in the state.
They would go on to Shattuck St. Mary’s where they would bring their women’s program to national prominence and win three national titles during their high school careers.
They would continue to rewrite the record books at the University of North Dakota by setting nearly every individual record in program history while becoming some of the best players in NCAA history and multiple time All-Americans during their college career.
During their 15 year National team career, Monique and Jocelyne would rise to become some of women’s hockey all-time best players winning one Olympic gold medal, two Olympic silver medals, six world championships, and one world championship runner up along with multiple individual awards and accolades.
Their most important victories have come off the ice in their fight for gender equity for women in hockey and sports. They were key leaders in negotiating Team USA’s first ever contract that provided more opportunities, compensation, and benefits for women and girls who play hockey in America. Monique and Jocelyne continue to give back to the state of North Dakota through the Monique and Jocelyne Lamoureux Foundation, which helps serve underprivileged youth. They have inspired a generation to Dream Big, but most importantly the legacy they leave behind will be about making a difference in people’s lives as they strive towards those dreams.
They are the 2nd and 3rd youngest recipients of the Teddy Roosevelt Award, North Dakota’s highest civilian award, they are inductees of the UND athletic hall of fame, as well the USA Hockey Hall of Fame.
