Olafson Ethics Symposium
Leading with Values, Learning with Purpose.
The Nistler College places a strong emphasis on ethics education, recognizing it as essential to developing responsible and principled leaders. Through the Olafson Ethics Symposium, students explore the complexities of ethical decision-making and learn to navigate challenges with integrity and accountability.
The Olafson Ethics Symposium provides a dynamic platform for students and the business community to engage in meaningful discussions about the importance of ethics in both personal and professional life. Through this symposium, participants explore real-world challenges, share perspectives, and deepen their understanding of ethical decision-making in today’s complex business environment.
This annual event is funded through the support of UND Alumnus Bob Olafson and his dedication to ethical business practices and the University of North Dakota. We are also grateful for the generous funding support has also been provided by SEI Investments Company.

Marketing With a Conscience: Purpose, Ethics, and the Power to Do Good
This keynote invites a critical look at the real stakes of marketing when ethics are ignored versus when purpose guides the work. Drawing on cases of deceptive and predatory advertising, the talk challenges audiences to consider how influence can either exploit or protect people and how values like transparency, fairness, and responsibility can turn marketing into a true force for good.
