Graduate Funding Opportunities
The Nistler College of Business and Public Administration has funding opportunities available for admitted students to apply for in the form of Graduate Assistant positions and Academic Scholarships. Each source of funding has different requirements and will require a separate application. Funding is not guaranteed with an offer of admission into a graduate program within the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration. For additional information, please see below:
Graduate Assistantship Positions
Requirements

- Applicants must be admitted to a graduate program in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration prior to applying for an assistantship position.
- 3.0/4.0 Cumulative GPA in bachelor’s degree
- Graduate Assistants must maintain enrollment in a minimum of 6 graduate credits each Fall/Spring semester.
- Must be able to fulfill graduate assistantship hours on campus.

- Apply and be admitted into a Nistler College of Business and Public Administration Graduate Program.
- Funding requests will not be considered unless a student has been admitted.
- To apply for a graduate assistant position, applicants must send a copy of their resume to Michelle Garske (michelle.garske@und.edu).

Timeline

- Fall Semester
- Must be admitted to a graduate program in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration by March 15.
- Must send resume to Michelle Garske by April 15.
- Interviews and graduate assistant offers are typically completed the month of May.
- Spring Semester
- Must be admitted to a graduate program in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration by August 15.
- Must send resume to Michelle Garske by September 15.
- Interviews and graduate assistant offers are typically completed the month of October.
- Fall Semester
Compensation

- Quarter Time position (10 hours per week)
- 3 credits of tuition waiver per semester (Fall and Spring only)
- 9 Month Stipend of $8,500 USD
- Half Time position (20 hours per week)
- 6 credits of tuition waiver per semester (Fall and Spring only)
- 9 Month Stipend of $17,000 USD
- Quarter Time position (10 hours per week)
Please note that there are a limited number of graduate assistant positions available, and the application process is highly competitive. Nistler College of Business and Public Administration graduate assistant positions are awarded by the office of graduate programs, and not by individual faculty members or academic departments.
Graduate Academic Scholarships
Nistler College of Business and Public Administration is proud to provide academic scholarship opportunities for graduate students. To apply, students must be admitted into an academic program within the college. Scholarships are awarded annually for the full academic year.
Nistler Graduate Scholarship Timeline
- Eligibility: Must be admitted as a graduate student within the Nistler College of
Business and Public Administration. All applicants must complete the UND General Scholarship
Application. In addition, graduate students are encouraged to apply for the following
scholarships:
- Edson and Margaret Larson Scholarship
- Ruth and Eugene Johnston Scholarship
- Edith Steinbach Scholarship
- Saly J Page Scholarship (Must be admitted to the MBA program)
- Opens: October 1 for the following academic year
- Deadline: March 1
